Read this and you'll go insane

wow, almost two months since the last post... I had a birthday since then. The 13th of november. I'm 23 now. But most anyone who ever reads this knows that. I doubt anyone reads it now after a month absence... E-mail me if you read it.

So, photography is an annoying class to me because it is taught by one of the few people at this school whom I can not stand, Dr. Michael Chute (Fer, he has some kind of connection to your school by the way, used to work there or something, he mentioned it in class the other day) This man has no regard for people's time or respect for them. He is an SBC clone to the core, reminds me very much of a certian radio station owner in New Orleans. Anyway... Thats only one reason, the other is that we are doing the class fully digital and I love film photography. The only good thing is we get a digi cam to play with for the trimester... But it's not the greatest one.

Stage makeup is interesting and fun. It's really amazing what you can do to the apperance of your face by changing the shadows and highlights with makeup. Yesterday I made my nose look narrower and wider and then made one eye look smaller. However, my skin is going to hate me. I put on and took off that makeup three times yesterday. But it's fun, it'll be really fun when we get to attach a 3d object to ourselves and then when we get into gore makeup. I'll be sure to post pictures of it.

Acting, what a fun class! All we do is play group games (trust falls, jump rope, etc) and improv games (so far, the mirror game, later we will be doing some other stuff too) and the quizes on the chapters are so easy and the chapters are easy to read.

Choir, the Ceremony of Carols (Benjamin Britten) is going pretty well, I believe we will have it ready by the 13th. Hopefully we'll even have a harpist instead of piano! Now, I'm not saying piano is bad, but for the ceremony of carols, harp is a nececity!

Voice, I'm doing two more pieces from Moussorgsky's Songs and Dances of Death (There are four all together) which are so neat to sing. Sure, a bit morbid, but fun. The characterization is nifty. I'm planning on singing the Trekpak, piece three from that set, on recital class the week we get back form thanksgiving. Also doing an aria from Mcbeth, nifty! And then there's a simple english christmas song just for something english and something chrismtas. And a german, by Wolf, An Die Geliebte. Which is confusing because I sang An Die FERNE Geliebte, a song cycle by Beethoven, on my sr recital.

Guitar is going well too, each trimester I feel more confidant. He told me today I need lighter strings, I hope that'll make things even better. I like playing his etudes, they are fun, not silly like the stuff in the beginner guitar book. (I mean, come on, there's only so many times a person can learn "go tell aunt rodey" in their lifetime on various instruments, you know?

Work at the church is going well, we're doing four anthems for christmas and I am adding some carols in there for the choir and some familiar ones for the congregation and the children are doing three songs. It's coming together well, the anthems are harder than anything we have worked on before and they are getting them pretty good except some of the syncapations in one of them, they're still too on the beat on that... But what can you do when they are mostly white haired?

My plants continue to take over the apartment. I got a new one for my birthday from becca's roomie kelly. And I have a mini orange tree I got a while back in the mail. it doesnt have fruit yet and it's just a baby. One day though!

I am very much wanting to go to Indiana. I need to write a research paper, I have finally decided what I think I want to do it on though, the Ceremony of Carols by Britten. I just need to do some research! Gotta apply in jan I think it is for my degree I want.

Got my letter from the school this week telling me what I still need to take. I alreay knew it though. A lab science, a religion (new testament), a PE, and a theatre course (for my minor). Also on there though was my senior recital and piano profeciancy! WHAT??? I DID THOSE!!! I'll have to talk to Dr. Keever about that.
