School was closed until 11 today due to dangerous driving conditions, sleet and freezing rain again. As I was driving to school this morning I passed three snow plows on I-20 in Aiken county.
First of all, why does Aiken county even HAVE three snow plows? I can see one, for that freak snow storm once in a thousand years. But THREE?
Secondly, why would you have snow plows out on the road for a little bit of sleet?? I mean, there wasn't NEARLY enough sleet to plow, you'd scrape pavement with the plow...
I understand they were out for salt, but why have the plow on the truck?
Oddness.
So I didn't have to work hard last night to do my counterpoint projects that were due today, they aren't due until Tuesday now!
The other good thing was that since I was getting to the school just as it was opening all the parking meters in front of the music building were still open so I didnt have to walk 5 blocks in pouring down freezing rain! Woo!

Eagle Carrying Deer Head Causes Power Outage In Alaska
Great stuff, great stuff!
Tonight after I got home from school I went straight to R. Gabriel's to see the Fresh Music All-Stars play. They are a jazz/dixieland/swing/whatever combo that Paul Roberts, the organist at our church, directs. Great stuff. While I sat there listening to various jazz styles I composed a 16th century counterpoint piece for my class tomorrow morning. :D
