Ah, work was weird today... I don't understand how it happens the way it does... You'll not have a single soul enter that door (well, maybe disembodied ones, I wouldn't be able to SEE them, now would I?) for hours, then a dozen people come in all at the same time, but not together, just randomly showing up at the same time.

Yeah, so we had that happen a few times, the last time was at 10:30 when three groups of about 4 people each came in. All but three of the drinks were blender drinks. Blender drinks are frappes, smoothies, and milkshakes. They take more time to make, you can only make two at a time, and there's a good deal of clean up between each one. In addition, four of them were frappes, each requiring two shots, and one was a mocha nut shake, requiring one shot of espresso. We had something like 12 shots or something to pull for this. And I was working with the new guy, so he's not as fast as he could be, so things got backed up. And each group took FOREVER to order. Dang slow people who come in late in a clump.

So we didnt get to start cleaning up 'till almost 11 (we close at 11) and it was nearly midnight before we were out of there. Urgh, I'm worn out, my back and feet hurt.

It's not that I hate my job. I love making coffee. I love being around it. I don't so much love smelling like it when I get home, but that simply requires a clothing change. I don't so much love getting up before the sun, or closing shifts, and I really hate $6 an hour. So I'm about to start looking for a new job methinks. But at least I have this untill I find something better. I would never complain about having worked here or working here now, and I am eternally greatful to my wonderful sister for getting me this job. It's a stepping stone before the next.

Speaking of jobs, there's a new position open at the library (you know, the library in Augusta that I have applied for four jobs thus far at!) This one is the bottom floor as far as jobs at the library goes, so there's no chance of anyone being promoted up into it! It's shelving. Whoo, big fun that, shelving. Probably a thousand times more tedious than making drinks. However, it also comes with a $11.86 or something along those lines an hour pay, nearly twice what I make making coffees.

So thats one option. The other is I don't know how much Boarders and Books a quadrillian and the like pay for their coffee persons, if it's more then I could check out those jobs, as I now have something like five months experience making the coffees. And those aren't open at the buttcrack of dawn.
