Update on my quest to get a laptop:

Still trying, and I have three referrals so far, working on another two. How do I do this? I found a site that lets people trade referrals for these types of sites. So I have signed up for five sites to get referrals on this one.

I have decided to follow Carter's route and offer $10 to anyone who signs up with my referral link. E-mail me so we can set up everything. You can sign up for a number of the offers for $1, some are $6.95, and one or two are free. You have to remember to cancel them before a month (or 14 days with the petchews one, maybe others) is up to prevent other charges. Efax and greatfun seem to be good ones to do, stamps.com also seems like a good one.

Why am I offering $10? Because if I paid 18 people $10 to be referrals for me I'd have a laptop for $180. And since I have 5 referrals lined up already I only need 13 more, and I'll keep trading referrals as well. So probably for $100 I could get a laptop.

Seriously, even if you don't want to do the thing, sign up as a referral for me and I'll send you ten bucks.

Help me get a free laptop!

Well, some of you may be from the VagrantCafe and if so you have probably seen the "conga line" free offer posts. I jumped into the line yesterday when a laptop was up for grabs.

It's not all free, I'll be honest and let you know that the offers all cose SOMETHING up front. Maybe a free sample requires a $5 shipping charge, or maybe a trial membership costs a $1 for a few days or a month or somesuch and must be cancled.

However, I signed up with an offer that costs $1 and includes a $20 circuit city card. So for $1 I'll get a $20 circuit city card and possibly a laptop? I can live with that. I just have to remember to cancle the membership before a month is up (I'll do it as soon as the offer has been credited to my laptop account). In adition to completing an offer you have to refer 18 friends who all complete one offer.

Now, I know most of you loyal readers will probably not jump onto this one. I was hesitant at first (espically when it was just ipods and minimacs and playstations up for grabs) but this one I liked. You get to choose between four laptops: A couple of different mac ibooks (good for mac lovers), an HP pavilion (eh... not an hp fan), and two Averatec notebooks one with an Intel chip and one with an AMD chip (the AMD one wasn't there when I signed up but I switched to it when I noticed it just now!), or you can just get $1000 in paypal credit.

You can also get an aditional offer with one more trial completed and two more friends. You can get a USB drive, a printer, or a choice of two laptop cases. I probably won't worry about that one because I'm not even sure I can get 18 people to sign up for the first one!

Anyway, All this to say, here is the link please check it out and if it's something you'd like to join in then do it. If you don't want to worry about getting friends but you don't mind spending a few bucks to get some free sample and help me get a laptop that'd be great as well. Am I worth $5 to you? :)

Seriously though, I'm not trying to make you sign up for this if you don't want to, but you have the option.

Help me get a free laptop!

So is everyone just tired of asking people questions in their blogs, do my comments not work, or does no one read this? I'll probably stop updating if no one is really reading this, it's not like I say a whole lot here anyway.
