Read this and you'll go insane

So I called up the sister while I was driving around town today doing deliveries and asked what she had planned for tonight and if she would like if I cooked for her and Mike and she, of course, didn't turn me down.

So I did a little grocery shopping and went over to cook.

I sauteed some onions and celery in a little olive oil then added some minced garlic. I seared some chicken breasts then I added the onions and such to that with some chopped tomato, fresh basil, and a bit of wine. I let that simmer for a while while the pasta cooked (penne) and I toasted some of the bread I got (a pane loaf with rosemary) and then rubbed some garlic on the bread. Searved it up with a baby romane salad and raspberry vinegerette I made up on the spot.

It was all wonderful.

In other news...

Was pleased to read in the paper today that the New Orleans Times Picayune and the South Mississippi Sun-Herald had both won Pulitzers for their coverage of Katrina.

I relied heavily on the Times Picayune for my news durring the aftermath of the storm and they did an excellent job. The staff at the paper rode out the storm and did their best to cover it well. The paper also set up forums to help the families affected by the storm to contact each other and find out how things in their area were.

Congratulations to both papers!
