MP3 Power!!!! MUWAHAHA!
So before my trip I bought a Creative Zen Microphoto with 8 gigs of storage. It's a nice little HD based player with a Lithium Ion battery. I had origianlly wanted to get a smaller, flash based player that used AAA bats but Circuit City had this one drastically marked down and they marked it down even more for me since it was missing the USB cable. And the battery does last for 15 hours of playing time.

I bought a charger for it since all it comes with is the USB cable but I don't think it is 1000 milliamps like it needs because I left it plugged in for 2 days in NY and it only got about a third of a charge on it. I need to return that one and find another.

Anyway, so today I decided to check and see how much the aux input adapter for my Pioneer CD player in my car would cost. I also checked to see if anyone had any good ideas on how to make one. They did indeed. One guy used the plugs that you use to connect the LEDs, fan, and power switches on a computer to the motherboard to make connectors and had the required pins mapped out. I happened to have some audio connectors for CD-Rom drives that are about the same size and I also happened to have a 1/8" stereo jack that I wasn't using anymore from an audio jack project I made for an old computer of mine a while back.

So I pulled the CD player out of the car, got to soldering, and drilled a small hole in the console around the player. Now there is a jack on my dash and I can plug my MP3 player into it! Woo!!

Coming soon: Update on my choir trip to NYC last week with pictures!!
