So I say to myself a few moments ago, "Self, we should go check out the music library website and see what sort of resources they have that I haven't found yet." (After realizing that I do not have to use the old William Carey music login to the online Grove Music site if I go through USC's website.)

So I did and this is what I saw (among other things):

"The Naxos Music Library provides streaming audio access to over 170,000 tracks of music, including the complete Naxos and Marco Polo catalogues and other licensed independent labels. Genres include classical music, historical recordings, jazz, world, folk, and Chinese music."

[The rest of this post can't be made as Nick has wet himself in excitement and is now squeeling, also in excitement. Ok, maybe not. But he is still very, very, very excited.]

This post is being made from the abode of the Rodericks. I got a call around 4:30 from the Mike of Roderick asking how far I would be willing to travel for the best bowl of soup in the world. Seems he and his lovely wife, Jen, had been planning to have some folks over for this soup not realizing that today was the day of the the great Souperbowl battle between two teams from some far off city or another and thus needed people to help them consume the soup.

I said sure, I'd come help them eat the soup and then finished doing my laundry and ironing and traversed the distance to Atlanta. Arriving an hour later than I had planned but before the soup was to be consumed still I got to town a short while befor the Jen's brother Chris got there. Soon as all were present we consumed soup (which had by this time turned into the best soup in the universe. It was, indeed, good soup. A white bean soup with some red pepper, garlic, olive oil, parmasean, and proscuitto.

We played some game with pieces that look like Tetris blocks and it was fun. I didn't win either time but the second time rather than losing horribly Mike and I were the final two.

We also listened to P.D.Q. Bach and much fun was had by the Rodericks and myself. While he enjoyed it to some extent I do not believe that brother Chris enjoyed it as much as we. He is a politics nerd and not a music geek so much. (He was just in town from the DNC winter meeting in Washington.)

After he had gone home to catch up on sleep we continued to listen to P.D.Q. Bach and then reminiced about times at good ol' William Carey College (now University) and such.

Now I am in possession of five of the coveted Michael Roderick CDs and will be willing to sell four of the five to the highest bidder (accepting no less than $10 each, to go directly to Mike's pocket soon as I get it).

Now I will sleep. Tomorrow I must go to Columbia by 3:30pm.
