Enjoying the new job quite a lot! The hours are nice, and the pace of work is nice. I like having a break about half-way through the day while I drive around town delivering.

Larry bought a new toy for the delivery truck the other day -- a GPS map navigation thingy. It's pretty nice, though after I drove about 1 mile with it yesterday before it locked up and I couldn't get it to turn off or anything (it has a soft power button it seems) and I couldn't find the reset button (it's in the most obvious location, really, hidden right under the faceplace).

Today I was able to use it. You can look up addresses or locations in the database and it will give you directions and show the map. Nice stuff.

Anyway, I had a great lunch today that I fixed last night and had for dinner tonight also and will have again tomorrow for lunch. I bought some hummas the other day at Publix and I decided I wanted something in a Mediterranean style to go with it for lunch. I fixed up some chicken breasts with diced tomato, onion, eggplant, olives, and some white wine. Mmm, it's yummy.

This week's schedule at R. Gabriel's for Nick:

Sunday: 5-Close
Monday: 2:30-Close -- Given to Mary so I can drive around the county to take care of my car registration.
Wednesday: 2:30-Close -- Given to Mary because she wanted hours and I wanted to go to choir.
Friday: Open-3 -- Given to Debora, Karla took Debora's shift, Aaron took Karla's Shift... Just because? I don't know, they had worked that out when I got to work today.
Saturday: 3-Close -- Given to Melanie because she wanted hours.
Sunday: 5-Close -- Given to Mary because she wanted hours.

So... That makes tonight's four hour shift my last shift!!! I don't work at R. Gabriel's anymore! Tomorrow I'll take care of car stuff and then Tuesday-Friday I'll work at Allegra! Sweet stuff!

Ok, in other news: In case you haven't heard yet, I have found a car! Friday after work I saw that I had gotten a call on my phone and he left a message about an Altima I called about at some point. I wasn't sure what car it was as I haven't called anyone in about a week about one.

So I called him. I had called him a couple of weeks ago and he told me it wasn't for sale anymore. They had decided to put it up for sale again and I got the info and called mom to have her look up the book value on it and I drove out there. It was book between $2300 and $2600 and he was asking $2500.

The car looked good (Oh yeah, it's a 1997 Nissan Altima with 130000 miles on it) and I drove it, it ran and drove well. So I taked him down to $2400 and went to the bank up the road and got out $2400 from my savings and bought it! Mom and dad were on their way to the lake with the girls and they stopped by and got their car so I drove my new car home!

Yesterday I put the CD player from my Honda into it and replaced the broke antenna. I'll go to morrow to do the taxes/title and plates, and then I'll check and see which of the two cars has better speakers, transfer the tweeters I added to my Honda, and find out why the front speakers aren't working.

Woo for new car and new job and new phone all in one week! (Got a new free phone from Cingular.)
