Well, I started clearing the place out for my small garden. It's a bed about 14 feet by 3 feet that my grandfather used to grow roses in. There are two rose vines left, I'll probably leave them in, they are growing on a wall of wire at the back of the bed. I got the cloth stuff that was down as a mulch up and I got the irrigation hose up (a soak hose hooked up to a faucet I think is attached to the automatic sprinkler system, not sure, the water didn't work) and a couple of feet hoed. I'll have to do some more work to the soil as there are a lot of roots from nearby plants growing throughout it. What fun!
Really, it's fun. And a good workout.
After I got tired I laid in the hamock and read for a while in the cool of the afternoon. Very nice day indeed.
I'm going to plant tomatoes for sure, and maybe some squash. Some herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, maybe something else. I have been considering a type or two of peppers also.
What a beautiful day! Sunny, clear, a bit on the warm side for my likes (upper 70s, still comfortable, but the humidity is a bit higher than it's been lately, 43%) but beautiful. I could do without the massive amounts of pollen, however, but we can't have everything, now can we?
So, I worked all morning, looking out those plate glass windows at the beautiful day, unable to enjoy it! That's the one thing I hate about my job! At some point durring work I mentioned the Sunshine bakery to Darin, remembering how good it was back when we used to live here, but I havn't been there for years so I decided to make that my lunch as I have been good and not spent money all week (well, except for the hat I bought yesterday). I had lentil soup with a Ruben sandwich, and topped it off with a piece of baklava. Mmm yummy food. The bread wasn't as good as I had remembered it, though, but the soup was great.
Now I have just finished cleaning my room and putting clothes in the wash. Soon I am going to venture outside to do some planning on my small garden I am considering planting (mmm tomatoes!).
Good day, good day.

My car is fixed! The axel of the motor had worn down so the fan wasn't fitting on it properly. We pulled out the whole thing and put the one off of my old car in it. It didn't quite fit, but we got it in.
Becca's car is fixed too, no more bad radiator.
The family has departed and are now somewhere between here and atlanta.
The visit by the Mike and the Chris was great, I've missed those folk. And Chris is bound to return here because his heart remains here at the piano store with a Steinway nine foot grand.
I am off work today and I think I will make a trip to the library, and then possibly to a couple of nurseries. I am considering getting some tomato plants and some herbs to grow in the yard, now that I have a yard in which these sorts of things can be done! Should be fun.
