I am now in possession of my very own medical insurance card! I haven't had insurance in like two or three years now and have been just fine, but it's nice to know I have it.

Honestly, it should have kicked in three months ago but Larry (the boss) hadn't realized it had been six months now that I have been on at Allegra and I hadn't said anything because I wasn't too sure about putting $100 or so a pay period out of my check into insurance that I hadn't used in two years and when I did have it I didn't use it much through college.

Aaannnyway, when Larry brought it up and I told him it had been six months that I have been working at Allegra so he started the ball rolling to get me signed up. He also told me that the franchise's practice is for the employee to pay 50% of the cost for insurance but that his practice is to give the employee a raise that will equal the other 50% of the insurance when the insurance starts up. So I get insurance and the same paycheck as before!

Of course, I don't think I'll really USE it much. And when I start grad school in the spring or fall (I know, I know... I've been saying that for two years now...) I won't be able to afford this plan, that is for sure... I don't know what other insurance costs. This is a blue cross blue shield thing and costs $400 a month. So, if my plan to start school by the spring semester happens I'll only get to have this card for a few months.

Anyway, that is the news from today. Tonight I go to rehearsal and crawl around on the floor some more. At least having the day off yesterday let my body recover from the bruised knees, bruised leg (from forgetting to take my keys out of my pocket before my fall), and sore thighs. Now we shall damage my body some more and I'll have to recover on Wednesday :D
