It's been a little while since I posted anything, eh. So herein while be a short overview of the past week or so. Be prepared for a really random post, as I'll be including a little bit of everything as I think of it. And I'll start with the day's activities and then branch out into what I have done and what is to come.

Tonight our community group Bible study thingy met at Mary's house (She's lived in Africa) to have an african meal. The food was this jambalaya like rice dish with white fish, tomatoes, onions, and eggplant in it (I can't remember if there were bell peppers). It was really very much like jambalaya, so that must be where the cajun dish originated. I didn't get a chance to ask her if this was a regional varient or if it's sort of spread all over the continent. The eating of the dish was an experience, too, as we ate it like africans, sitting around the pot and grabbing food out of it with our hands. About four of our group wouldn't use their hands and asked for utinsils for the job, whimps. I dug right in. It was fun, and yummy.

Afterwards I made my way to the Mellow Mushroom to see Steel String Theory play. I know the upright bass player because he plays in the jam session with the celtic band Shibin on Tuesdays at the Metro, and he's been wanting me to see his band. Last time they played I was working. Becca came with me, also. Good times, good music. Afterward he gave me a CD! Free CDs rock.

This week musically is fun! Last night, being Tuesday, I went to the Metro to see Shibin play, which is always good times. Sadly, it's probably the last time I'll see them for a while as next Tuesday I'll be out of town and after that I'll have ACS (Augusta Choral Society) rehearsals on Tuesday nights. Tomorrow night there's big band music "in the park" though I have been told that since it threatens to rain it's been moved to North Augusta High. I had planned to go to this a while back, but only recently did I learn that two guys I know from church are involved with it. So celtic, bluegrass, and big band all in one week! Fun!

Sunday morning I sang in church (as in a solo). It's been a long time since I've done a solo. I sang Lord, What is Man? by Purcell, from my senior recital. Fun piece. It was nice to sing again, I'd almost forgotten what it was like (not what it's like to sing, but what it's like to be the only one doing the singing).

Tomorrow I must make all preperations for the trip to MO (to see the Fersis!!!) for I work Friday and Saturday and we depart on Sunday. Eek... I've gotta figure out how to fix the short in my headlight, clean out my car, pack, get all the produce out of my garden, clean my beta tank, fix my aunt's computer, pick up a sound system for the birthday bash at R. Gab's on Saturday, and go see big band music. Also I need to cook some eggplant parmasean dish to use up the eggplants and tomatoes out of my garden.

Saturday is the big one year birthday bash at the shop, I'm in charge of doing sound for the bands that will be playing from 1 until 9:30pm. What fun. I hope it doesn't rain.

Sunday I will be driving to Bolivar, MO! All next week Becca and I will be there, with a short stint in Oklahoma to meet Vagrants! Ah, roadtrip, I am happy!
