Greetings from Wendy's parking lot! I realize it's been a while since i last posted and a good deal has gone on since then. About a thousand miles have been traversed and much fun has been had. Also much rain has fallen -- the south once again feels more like the south! It's been a pleasently dry and cool year thus far. I mean, it's June and still comfortable. But after a week's worth of rain thus far the humidity is back in the air and there are times you can walk outside and it feels like a Southern March!

Loren at work, from Cali, asked me if this was a typical June for Augusta and I laughed and told her no, it usualy hits 90 in March and rains for a month or two and the temps don't drop until November! The weather has been lovely.

Lovely. So Thrusday we traversed I-20 to Hattiesburg and stayed with Mr. Lovely for a long weekend. We met him for dinner at the best Italian place I've ever had, Panino's in the 'burg. Great palce, free food on your birthday. Shame mine is in November.

Friday Becca and I went to the WCC (alma mater) and saw our old church music prof, Dr. Winters and had lunch with him at La Fiesta, the mississippi mexican food chain that was the lunch spot for many Carey students. Mr. Roderick was seen there and we got our first look at his then fiance now wife.

That afternoon we met up with our crazy friend Daniel and watched him eat lunch. I went to the wedding rehearsl to plan photographs (and to lament the illness that struck my Minolta, leaving me with one camera that I only have a fixed focal lense for -- no black and white pics at this wedding... oh well) and such. After that met back up with Becca and Daniel and Skot who had since hooked up with them and went to McAlister's Deli, a famous Mississippi deli which was a dinner spot for many a Carey student. Shortly after we sat down Mr Springstead called us up and was in town and so he came to eat with us as well. The evening was spent at Daniel's place (he just moved in that day or so) and watching Aquateen Hunger Force. Good times.

Springstead was staying with us at Hotel Lovely as well as mr Roderick and one of the wedding party. We went to bed soon after getting back to Lovely's but were awaken at 1am (well, we had just hardly fallen asleep) when the door opened and Mr Roderick whom we had assumed was sleeping in Drew's room walked in. So then much talking took place. And then the mikes and I made a Krystal run.

The next day was spent marrying the Roderick and Jen and then hanging out with Springstead. We had dinner at Lenny's a great deli in town. Went to Javawerks -- the local coffeeshop with Lovely that night.

Sunday we went to Lovely's church and had dinner with his friends Hunter and Michelle on Chris. Chris had something to do already that he had forgotten about. The rain came down while we ate and when we got to the Lovely apartment the power was out -- but not for long. We tried to watch the Incredables but the PS2 had the parental lock on. So we watched some John Wayne movie. But shortly Drew came in and gave us the code so we did watch Incredables -- tis a good movie. Skot came back aroud Sunday too.

That evening we had dinner with drew at Arby's.

Monday we met up with our friend Jabbo for lunch at Chili's and then traversed the miles back to Augusta. Good times. Mr. Springstead was with us the whole weekend though he had not planned to be. He decided that since it was a holliday weekend there was no reason for him to head home till Monday either.

Good, good trip. Got to see some great friends and visit all the eating places we missed from that town.

Since then it has been work.

Except for last night becca and I went to see an Irish guitarist at a local art gallery. John Doyle. He's played with everyone including Bela Fleck and the Cheiftans and has played on A Prairie Home Companion. Great evening started off with some Samosa at The Bee's Knees.

Anyway, thats about all that's gone on thus far.

This fall our history prof from WCC is taking a trip to Scotland and becca and I want to go. In the event that our grandmother won't bankroll the event even though she very well could any of you who want to may contribute towards this event. Thanks so much! :D
